Thackray Crane Rental, a family-owned crane rental company serving the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware region, will host its 10th annual safety meeting on Wed., June 28 at 6 p.m. at the Ironworkers Local 401 Hall in Philadelphia, Pa.
The main topic of this year’s meeting is distracted driving, and keynote speaker and nationally recognized traffic safety advocate David Teater will present “Distracted Driving: A Traffic Safety Epidemic.”
A corporate consultant from FocusDriven, Teater’s career includes serving as CEO of many private companies, including 20 years with an automotive supplier. In 2009, he joined the National Safety Council (NSC) when it advocated for a nationwide ban on cell phone use while driving. He also helped lead the NSC’s efforts in reducing fatalities and injuries caused by distracted driving.
Thackray Crane Rental is inviting employees to the safety meeting, as well as its employees’ teenage sons and daughters, who as new drivers may be at an increased risk from driving distractions. The company’s goal is to encourage an open dialogue between parents and teenagers regarding distracted driving and prevent it from happening.
