Empire Crane Co. has delivered the first Demag AC250-5 all-terrain crane in the United States to Auburn Crane and Rigging. The Demag AC250-5 is a compact 300-ton unit that is 47.6 feet long and 9.8 feet wide. Its single-engine concept reduces operational costs and maintenance by using an intelligent motor management systems to deliver the precise amount of power needed for lifting and transporting the crane. It also can be outfitted with the optional IC-1 Plus control system, which enables the maximum lifting capacity of the crane when it is lifting over the outriggers.
Paul Lonergan, president of Empire Crane Company, said: “The Demag AC250-5 is a really impressive machine. It is the most compact crane with this kind of capacity, and you can’t get much better than that. Auburn’s purchase is surely going to increase their capabilities and give them an edge over their competition.”
