After always using boom trucks for tree removal jobs, Denilson Roque, owner of Dennis Tree Service in Sudbury, MA made a big change and purchased a new Demag AC60-3, 65 ton US capacity, all terrain crane from Empire Crane Company. Roque says, “With the AC60, I can park in one spot and do everything around me. It’s more precise, has higher capacity, and more reach.”
Most of the work Dennis Tree performs is tree removal. The crane’s first job was removing 16 pine trees from a residential area. They individually lifted 7,000lb -10,000lb cuts of tree using a single linepull. The linepull on a AC60-3 is 15,000lbs; more than double the linepull on Dennis’ previous machine. The Demag AC60-3 also features 164’ of main boom, a 52’ double folding swing-away jib, tilting cab, Mercedes engine, cameras for added safety, and the IC-1 Plus control system.
