Fassi Gru unveiled the F395A xe-dynamic knuckleboom crane earlier this month at Transport-CH. The exhibition is the largest transport and lifting equipment trade show in Switzerland.
The new Fassi F395A xe-dynamic crane and the F395RA xe-dynamic models come in at the top of Fassi Gru’s mid-range of cranes. These new cranes have a lifting capacity of 36.5 tonne-meters and a 26.7-meter hydraulic outreach with jib.
The units are available with rack-and-pinion (F395A) or fifth-wheel (F395RA) rotation. The first will rotate 400° non-continuously, while the second allows a complete 360° rotation. The new models come with the FX 500 control system, the D850 hydraulic distributor, the Fassi RCH/RCS radio remote control, and FSC-S or FSC-H stability control.
On the Fassi F395A xe-dynamic, the rack has self-centering cast iron guide pads that guarantee a correct and constant coupling between the pinion and the rack, which avoids wearing down the teeth. The base and lower part of the column are made of cast steel for ideal stress distribution and superior strength. Without welding, the crane has a longer life. The F395A will be available in different versions with a maximum of eight hydraulic extensions in the basic configuration and in two versions with a short secondary boom. To further increase the work area, various combinations with jibs are available to satisfy every need.
The Fassi F395RA xe-dynamic has continuous rotation on a double-circulation fifth-wheel bearing with motor reducer, a base with slots for fixing with tie-rods or an integrated counter frame that allows the installation height to be contained.
On both models, the guide pads of the boom sections are “force” mounted to reduce vertical and lateral clearance for longer durability; hydraulically extendable outriggers are also available in the XL version, as well as a “C” version with a shorter secondary arm for an increased under-hook lifting height.
