Liebherr’s offshore crane division has launched a new manipulator system for its ram luffing knuckleboom crane series. Both the RL-K 4200 and the RL-K 7500 Models can be outfitted with the Manipulator 100.
The Manipulator 100 features a safety working load of 100 tonnes and can be used with either hook or crossbar function. The crossbar mode matches to any operation, including during bad weather conditions and emergency operations. It also can be used for swing-free lifting of bigger components, such as heavy flotation devices, and next to the crossbar mode, the manipulator can be used for more efficient material handling onboard.
Load handling by offshore cranes is often restricted because conventional main and auxiliary hooks can’t rotate, which makes lifting loads within limited spaces difficult. The Manipulator 100 is able to fill this gap due to its 360° rotatable structure. Additionally, it is equipped with a 2-meter-long hydraulic telescoping arm to increase the working range and work during pipe-handling operations.
