- The LTM 1750-9.1 is the largest crane in the fleet of Kandla Cargo Handlers
- Indian crane company took delivery of the 9-axle crane in April 2019
- Strongest in class capacity of the crane and fast delivery were important points for Kandla Cargo Handlers
Kandla Cargo Handlers, based in Mumbai / India, took delivery of a refurbished LTM 1750-9.1 in April this year. The nine axle crane is the largest machine in the fleet of the crane rental company now and will be used mainly for industrial and wind power installations. After the trainings on the LTM 1750-9.1, the first job is now taking place.
The decision to go bigger was made a couple of months before purchasing the LTM 1750-9.1 by Mr. Bajranglal Agarwal, Partner of Kandla Cargo Handlers. “The LTM 1750-9.1 is the best crane in its capacity class from our point of view. It is a very strong crane with high lifting capacity as well as highest level of versatility in boom configurations, which will help us in the different industrial and wind power applications. We bought the used crane due to the fast delivery time and the overhauling of the crane was done in Liebherr’s main manufacturing plant in Ehingen, Germany”.
The nine axle giant is now fitting in at the upper end of the lifting capacity of the Kandla Cargo Handlers crane fleet that consists of roughly forty cranes. The LTM 1750-9.1 joins a fleet of other Liebherr cranes with lifting capacities ranging from 160 to now 750 metric tons.
When Kandla Cargo Handlers opted for the used LTM 1750-9.1, a couple of further key points were quite important for the company. “Liebherr is the most technologically advanced crane brand in the world and we have a lot of Liebherr telescopic cranes in the upper end of our crane capacity fleet, starting from the LTM 1160 all the way up to the new LTM 1750-9.1. And with a large crane like this, you need a strong and reliable partner. The quality, reliability and service from Liebherr is important for us, so this crane was for us the logical choice”, adds Agarwal.
On the first job, the 750t crane was used with the telescopic boom in “T” configuration. The crane worked in a restricted and confined construction space in the middle of a crowded city and just a short distance away from the central railway station, while handling a heavy critical load of 120 t.
Kandla Cargo Handlers is a crane rental company based in Mumbai, India. Founded in the year 1989, the company today employs around 150 people with a fleet size of approximately 40 cranes, including heavy handling equipment. The aim of Kandla Cargo Handlers is to be the most trusted and dependable professionals in the Indian lifting industry.
