IDAHO FALLS, Idaho –
A crane fell partway into an underground parking garage in downtown Idaho Falls on Tuesday evening.
The driver was trying to make a turn from an alleyway onto Yellowstone, near the Bank of Commerce and couldn’t make the turn. The driver started to back up, and the back of the crane broke through the roof of the parking garage, Idaho Falls police said.
No injures were reported, but a Jeep parked below where the crane fell through was damaged.
Part of Yellowstone between A Street and Broadway was closed for a time Tuesday. A bigger crane was brought in and pulled the other crane out.
The parking garage, which is owned by the Bank of Commerce, will be closed until it is inspected, and a decision is made on what needs to be done to repair it.
