GARNER, Iowa (Oct. 2, 2013) — Oshkosh Corp. subsidiary Iowa Mold Tooling Co. Inc. introduced several mid-range articulating cranes at the 2013 International Construction and Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE), which took place Oct. 1-3 in Louisville, Ky.
The company’s new 9/65, 10/72, 11/78 and 12/86 crane models have been enhanced with new options, features and ratings, IMT said, offering customers increased productivity and payload capacity. The cranes are rated from 65,100 foot-pounds to 86,075 foot-pounds and feature lift capacities ranging from 8,380 pounds to 10,230 pounds.
New features include single link (SL) and dual link (DL) options, 15-degree overbending and weight reduction of 10 to 15 percent from the previous models. The SL option provides users with high lifting capacity when the boom system is full extended and offers strength, regular speed and flexibility in the outer boom, combined with high speed in the main boom’s extreme positions at the column. IMT said this options is well-suited for loading and unloading tasks at a low height, far away from the vehicle.
The DL option offers “the best lifting capacities under all conditions” and provides precise and regular movements within the working area, IMT said. It is well-suited for long reaches and lifting in high positions.
Each crane can be fitted with up to five hydraulic extensions to provide application-specific reach, the company said.
“IMT customers need lift and reach capabilities that are tailored to their challenging applications” said John Field, product manager of material handling at IMT. “Our new mid-range articulating crane models offer an elevated level of technology that increases productivity—with lower weight that allows for more payload capacity.”
Additional features of the new crane models include: ultra-high tensile steel construction; a radio remote control equipped with an information center for controlling stabilizer functions and feedback of loader operation conditions; rack and pinion rotation; an internal hose routing system; optional stabilizer solutions; a flexible stow bracket design; a strong hexagonal profile; load-holding valves on all load-bearing cylinders; and an extension system equipped with a regeneration valve to increase work speed.
