A 15-strong team worked throughout Saturday and Sunday to install the 90-tonne structure above Wheatlands Road.
Network Rail project director Hugh Wark said the lift had gone “very well” and thanked businesses and residents for their “patience and co-operation”.
Bridge works will continue in the area with further structures on Currie Road and over the Gala Water planned.
The rail line between Tweedbank in the Borders and Edinburgh is scheduled to reopen to trains next year.
