Did we not just see a crane tip over most likely because of unstable ground conditions killing the operator.  Come on People!!  Prep your jobsites, stay safe. Â
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The U.S. Labor Department’s OSHA has proposed more than $280,000 in fines against contractors working on a power plant in Berlin, New Hampshire. OSHA says workers were exposed to serious and potentially fatal injuries from cave-ins, falls, scaffold collapses, crushing, lead and electrocution hazards. No one was killed or seriously hurt.
General contractor Babcock & Wilcox Construction of Barberton, Ohio, faces over $116,000 in fines. OSHA said the company was cited for using cranes on unstable ground; failing to train workers adequately to install fall protection systems; not keeping work areas clear of debris; and others. Ryan Cornell, a spokesman for Babcock & Wilcox, says the company disagrees with the findings but will work closely with OSHA to resolve the issues.
