Smashing pumpkins with medieval trebuchet great fun for WMU engineering students and Gull Meadow Farms visitors.
For a farm that prizes pumpkins so much, they sure love to destroy them.
“These people must really hate pumpkins,” said Mark Brown, 21, lead designer for the Medieval Engineering Trebuchet Team (METT) atWestern Michigan University.
Gull Meadow Farms inRichland hosted a new attraction Saturday, a pumpkin-slinging trebuchet, courtesy of WMU engineering students. The farm also dropped an 800-pound pumpkin from a crane, which exploded with a huge smacking sound.
“We’re pretty much just a group of engineering nerds,” Seurynck said.
