GlobalSim announces it will unveil a premium Virtual Reality (VR) simulator with a 3 Degree Of Freedom (DOF) motion base later this month at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC) in Orlando. The conference is the largest modeling, simulation, and training conference in the world.
“This has been a big year for GlobalSim” said Jonathan McCurdy, president and CEO of GlobalSim. “A large part of our success and momentum this year has been surrounding our VR products. We introduced our first VR simulator last year at the I/ITSEC Conference; this year we’re taking another leap forward by incorporating a large motion base into our VR simulator.”
The GlobalSim VR simulator comes equipped with a headset that offers an unlimited field-of-view in a mixed reality setting, allowing for a completely immersive experience. The VR platform uses real equipment controls, joysticks, and buttons so operators can become familiar with the actual equipment used in the workplace. With seamless integration of real-life controls and technology, operators using the GlobalSim VR simulator can see their hands in the virtual environment to add to the unit’s realism.
Conference attendees will be able to try the new simulator, which will feature a ship crane and construction crane designed for military operations. GlobalSim also will have two other simulators at the exhibit.
“Our development team pushes hard each year to introduce our latest and greatest technology at I/ITSEC,” said Brad Ball, GlobalSim’s vice president of sales and marketing. ” This year is no exception – our VR with motion is really going to turns some heads.”
