In the second municipal district of Vienna – the Austria Campus, a 303,000-square-meter urban development project is taking place. Developer Signa Holding will complete the five modern, sustainable office complexes with public transport links on the former Vienna North railway station site by 2018. The infrastructure will include a hotel, retail outlets, a conference center, a medical center, a school, and a canteen.
To handle the loads, 20 Liebherr EC-H and EC-B tower cranes have been erected on the work site. About 24,000 tonnes of steel were lifted on the project. The construction work on the Austria Campus is one of the largest projects in Austria. At peak construction, up to 2,200 construction workers were on the site.
