Leading crane inspection and safety training company, Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau, has been steadily increasing its international presence. CICB is now penetrating the Middle East market, and is the only vendor for crane inspections, training, and management services for the largest petrochemical company in Qatar.
Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB), leading United States crane inspection and safety training company, has been gradually expanding its international presence in the past few years. Today, CICB announces its expansion into the Middle East, as CICB now provides crane services to the largest petrochemical company in Qatar.
As the world’s energy demands skyrocket, so do demands for refineries, processing plants, and storage facilities. To keep up with this demand, Qatar’s largest petrochemical company is building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Ras Laffan. Ras Laffan is an industrial city designed and built to process the resources of the North Gas Field, the world’s largest single non-associated gas field, spanning over 3,738 miles. The city is 66 square miles, is continuously under construction, and has the world’s largest artificial harbor.
As the LNG facility is constructed, CICB will work onsite with the client and its subsidiaries to provide annual crane inspections and training in compliance with federal, local, and corporate regulatory guidelines. A team six of CICB’s certified crane inspectors recently completed a 4 week project at the LNG facility, inspecting 9,000 pieces of rigging gear and over 125 mobile and tower cranes, many suspended at 200 feet and above. This was the second annual project for the client, and CICB has now won an exclusive contract for crane services at the petrochemical giant.
Previously, CICB has conducted inspections and training in North and South America, Africa, the Far East, and Europe. CICB instructors and inspectors are proficient in the national standards of dozens of countries. CICB attributes this expertise to their success in the international market.
We are thrilled to win this work in Qatar, and expand our international presence to a new region.
