To raise awareness and the understanding of the value of safety in the crane and rigging industry, Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau (CICB), will hold free seminars for Managers and Supervisors in both Houston, TX and Orlando, FL on April 29th. These seminars will be held in recognition of Worker’s Memorial Day, OSHA National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction and Safe & Sound Week.
The three-hour, Manager and Supervisor seminars will encompass the roles and responsibilities of the site supervisor, owner, operator, rigger and lift director along with the safe operation and inspection of cranes and the associated rigging gear.
In addition to the topics above, the morning session will provide an in-depth overview of OSHA’s three-fold approach for the qualification of crane operators in construction: (1) Operator Training for employees not yet certified to operate cranes; (2) Operator Certification or License; and (3) Employer Evaluation of Certified Operators.
The afternoon session will focus on the General Industry Requirements for Overhead Crane and Hoists, including safe operations, inspections as well as the associated rigging gear.
The seminars will include a BBQ Networking Lunch.
“These seminars will help Managers, Supervisors and Safety Personnel understand OSHA and ASME’s crane and rigging requirements,” stated Jerry Longtin, General Manager of CICB, “and by working together, our workers are safer, and our industry is stronger.”
