State police have released details on a crash Tuesday morning in Bear that sent two people to the hospital.
The collision happened in the 1800 block of Bear Corbitt Rd. (Del. 7) just before 11 a.m. and involved a car and crane.
Officials say Harvey McCoy, 82, of Bear, was driving a 1999 Dodge Caravan south on the roadway when it hit a construction crane, said Master Cpl. Jeffrey Hale, a Delaware State Police spokesman.
The crane, which is owned by Spark Electric Service in Smyrna, was stationary and partially on the roadway while it was at a work site, Hale said.
McCoy was taken to Christiana Hospital for evaluation. A passenger in the car, Mary McCoy, had to be freed by emergency personnel. She also went to Christiana Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
The operator of the crane, Paul Ruga, 56, of Dorothy, New Jersey, was cited with a parking violation.
