Seabirds on Budleigh seafront got a surprise recently, when they were joined in the air by a grand piano!
ent is the treasured possession of Judith Law, who along with husband Peter was moving out of their Fore Street home after 33 years.
Because they lived in a maisonette above a shop, and there was no way of getting the piano down stairs, local firm Carters were called upon to crane the piano out of the flat, on its way to the couple’s new home in Pebble Lane.
This was the reverse of what happened 33 years ago, when it was craned in, however the seafront path has far more obstacles now than it did then, meaning expert driving was needed.
Despite the challenges, the piano was retrieved safe and sound, leaving Judith free to carry on playing her favourite tunes in her new home.
