Pictured – How the crane used to look before the hotel development. See Ross Parry copy RPYCRANE. This historic port crane was in ruins and labelled “impossible†to develop, but after three years it has become one of the swankiest and unique hotels in Holland. After years of development fraught with technical difficulties, one of the oldest and highest maritime cranes in the world is officially open for business. This monumental 50-metre high port crane had been decaying but now hosts three luxurious design hotel suites and a TV broadcasting studio. The high-end suites are each decorated by a top team of interior designers. The top of the crane hosts a luxury spa pool with a panoramic view over Amsterdam and the river.
