Icelandic building contractor BYGG has taken delivery of a Potain Hup 32-27, the first to be delivered in its home country. The self-erecting crane is currently working on a residential development in the capital Reykjavik. The crane was sold and delivered by Kraftvélar, Manitowoc’s dealer in Iceland since April 2016.
BYGG says it opted for the Hup 32-27 because of its ‘four tonne capacity, 32 metre maximum radius and its ease of transport, quick s-t up time and easy-to-use remote-controlled operating system’.
Over the past few years BYGG – which specialises in building residential real estate – has built more than 3,000 apartments in Iceland. As well as the new Potain it also owns two Igo 36 self-erecting cranes and an MD 125 A city tower crane.
